Turn ripe and bruised strawberries into a refreshing agua fresca drink.

Food Shift's Chef Jen shares an innovative recipe to use strawberries at peak ripeness and even ones that are a bit bruised!

Chef Jen also highlights how she stores fruit in her fridge for maximum freshness and how to use strawberry tops for a delicious spa water.

Check out the video below for more tips on maximizing this delicious fruit!

Agua Fresca Recipe

2 cups roughly chopped fruit (strawberries, mangos, peaches, watermelon, etc.)
1 cup water
1/2 lemon juice (or other citrus such as orange or lime)
1 teaspoon sugar (add more or less depending on sweetness of fruit and your taste)
2-3 leaves of mint, basil, or other herb of your choice (optional)

Blend ingredients in a blender, adding torn herb leaves last.

Pour the agua fresca over ice, or store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

You can also freeze the agua fresca into popsicles or ice cubes to make spa water in the future. Enjoy!
