Freeze Your Bread

Whether it's extra bread rolls, sliced bread, or a fresh baguette, make sure to get the most out of your bread products by storing them in the freezer.

Most bread products and baked goods can only last so long before they become stale, dry, hard, or moldy. If you know that you won't be able to use up your bread at its peak, move it to the freezer to save it for later.

Separate the bread into usable portions and cut baguettes and whole loaves into slices to make it easier to use. Wrap the bread tightly to ensure it doesn't absorb flavors of other food in the freezer and label it clearly with the item name and the date.

When you're ready to use the bread, pull out only what you need and leave it out to thaw at room temperature or put it directly into the toaster or oven.

*This tip also applies to freshly baked goods such as cookies, fruit breads, cakes, etc. Just make sure you're freezing the items when they're still at their peak freshness.
